Does the paper feel like newspaper? 

Yes it does, both The Northern Star and the Rainbow Wrap are both made using traditional newspaper printing methods, therefore you may experience slight ink transfer, I would recommend if gifting delicate fabrics they are wrapped in a protective layer first.
